1. Saying something outrageously wrong – in other words, use a byline that is a lie;  if it makes people angry, they will be compelled to read on and find out that you really do not believe that. (Example: Seth’s bestselling book title  ‘All Marketers are Liars’ – the back cover said otherwise)
2. Re-post this outrageous byline all over the place, in groups, on social networks, linked back to the original post with anchor text.
3. Re-use your best posts – update them with new information and current statistics proving the correctness of the original post.
4. Get the frequency right – if you post too often, you are boring, too little, you are forgotten – so maintain the conversation.
5. Disagree with main-stream thoughts and methods; challenge main-stream thinking, especially when it is actually wrong; for instance: the idea of learning about social media in school is ridiculous – the information is outdated.
6. Post your disagreements publicly challenging professors and academics in public forums.
7. Follow and respond to others doing the above.
8. Find an idiot who wants to have a pissing match.
9. Make a fool out of the above idiot in an eloquent and unassuming way.
10. Eloquently forgive the above idiot for believing in conventional wisdom – which has no place in getting to the top of anything as competitive as social media.

Total Online Video Streams up 41% from Last Year

The Nielsen Company today reported overall online video usage and top online brands ranked by video streams for August 2009. Year-over-year, unique viewers, total streams, streams per viewer and time per viewer were up, led by a 41 percent growth in total streams.

In this brave new world, the viewership eclipses all conventional media with Youtube the clear winner for viewership, the main-stream networks not even on the top list:

According to Nielsen, the growth in online video over the past six months has been significant with the time spent viewing online video by the overall Internet audience growing by 16% in just six months (from November 2008 to April 2009).

Even more interesting is the online viewing behavior by smaller demographic segments within that overall audience.  For example, the growth in online video viewing among men is much faster than among women (19% growth for men and 12% growth for women).  This is not surprising since men traditionally are known to watch more online video than women.

However, Nielsen did report a growth rate that might surprise you.  While you might think that the growth rate in online video viewing among young people would eclipse that of the older demographic, the opposite is true.  Yes, people in the 18-24 year old demographic segment watch the most online video, followed by the 25-34 year old segment, but older demographics are starting to shift their online habits to include more and more online video.

The 6-month growth in online video viewing among the 35-49 year old age range was 29% — nearly twice as high as the growth rate among the 18-24 and 25-34 age ranges combined.  Furthermore, the growth rate in online video viewing in the 65+ age range was an astounding 21% — the second highest growth rate of all segments.  It seems online video is not just for teenagers anymore.

In the  seldom quoted and controversial book of Revelations, this scripture, in almost every translation of what some call “the living word”, seems to encourage “zeal” as apposed to political hedging as a strategy for spreading the truth.

I am here to tell you that this is still excellent advice for marketing today in the “Book of Life” – otherwise known as social media!

Here are some numbers I found this morning: look at this article from the Christian Post quoting Reed and others…

The FFC reports that 29 percent of the conservative movement are evangelical Christians. These evangelicals reside in Southern and Midwestern states, research shows. Reed also said of these evangelicals, “They are the majority of the Tea Party movement.”

Public Opinion Strategies polls found that Tea Party members made up 27 percent of the electorate. Just over half of all self-ascribed Tea Party members identified themselves as conservative evangelicals. Yet, Reed says the reverse is also true: Two-thirds of conservatives also align themselves with the Tea Party.

“These movements are inexplicably intertwined, and there is an enormous amount of overlap,” explained Reed.

Reed says, with numbers like these, “these voters cannot be ignored.”

“Either party ignores them or opposes them at their peril at the ballot box,” he reiterated.

It was Democrats who were put in danger Tuesday night. That night the majority of evangelicals, Tea Party members and mass-attending Catholics voted Republican.”

Google’s maps are almost completely empty!  They opened up the API months ago to get us to feed them, and almost no apps have been written, no revenue models created; no good local groups formed to feed Google from the grass roots!  Everybody from Realtor.com to the most obscure, ridiculous newcomer has attempted to create a network of local city and community blogs: this is why they do not work:

• They are not good for the advertiser
• They are not exclusive – simply modern versions of an outdated model that will put you an a page populated by every competitor – not good!
• They rank their pages instead of the client page
• They start with an empty database, and nobody wants to go first
• They are overcapitalized, over-priced, too expensive – again outdated
• They lack ‘boots on the ground’ IE: no local connection to real local people
• Nobody wants to train and build a real sales force with local people selling good advertising to local people
• Their pricing structure is outdated, the internet is less expensive
• They are too short sighted – want instant rewards without years of hard work – IE no fundamentalist value to the business.
• They do not promise results
• Their salespeople do not even understand what they are selling, much less the client – or nobody would buy it.

Are you tired of doing something that you hate for a living?

Were you sold a lie before you were old enough to know better; forced into a life of servitude and slavery by poverty and the fear of not having what you need or being passed by by the mainstream world?

Have you ever wished that you  had had the opportunities that others,  who have less talent, less character, and  less purity have had to pursue their dreams; while you had to toil  from behind the proverbial 8 ball to try to catch up?!

If so, this information is especially important for you: read on…

And all this is simply about the ability to survive, and have security, and food, and warmth, and comfort: right?

Wrong!  That is a lie, that was sold to you by the same people who put you into the bondage you are now in.   What really enslaves you is your own fear and doubt, your pride, your greed, your fear, your weaknesses and your willingness to give in…for without those you could not be  enslaved in this way, it would not be worth the trouble to try.

The truth is right in front  of you all the time: you just do not see it, because you are too busy looking for it: you have always been a slave.

It is because you do not realize your own value that this keeps happening to you. 

If you are not afraid; if you are fearless: then you are a warrior, a soldier, a general, or a spiritual leader, a good worker or a good manager, but not a slave.  You can only be enslaved because you believe a lie: the lie that you are a slave to these circumstances, that  you have no choice is really and excuse; that is not your true potential, and you are really not limited in that way: you could accomplish great things..  Somebody who had similar issues sold you that lie to make themselves feel better about themselves, and it did not even really make them feel better.  That poor soul who perpetuated that lie was also a victim.  Read on, and I will absolutely prove it to you:

As he was about to do so, when he remembered a sacred word, and fell asleep on the River bank.
He was awakened by his friend who had taken him across the river in the first place.

”Siddhartha! Tell me how you fared!” he asked.

Siddhartha told him of his journeys and his conclusions, then prepared again to through himself in the river.  His friend stopped him, saying:

”Since you are going to kill yourself, and have nothing to loose anyway; why not help me for a while first – I could use a hand as commerce crossing the river has increased…later n the story, Siddhartha looks into the river boat owners eyes, and sees enlightenment – the River-man has found God in the river.  Siddhartha is finally enlightened: he realizes that God was with him all along the journey, not just in the river, but in everyone and everything that happened to bring him to this realization: he just needed to stop seeking for long enough to realize it.

Don’t worry, I will get to the point, and the proof that I promised ( I had to read that whole book and many others and live a full life  to get this, so hold on a just a little longer.. it will be worth it).

You see, this paradox between what you really care about and what you must do for a living does not really exist – there is a never ending appetite, greater than our appetite for life itself: it is the desire to be loved and to love, to hear and to be heard, and to seek out and find more and more of the truth which sets us free when we are not  afraid.  It is only the fear and doubt itself that enslaves us. Proof:

• An animal, that can live, eat, reproduce and die is a happy animal: that is as good as it gets.  some of you are saying: “What else is there?”, am I right?  But the answer is already known to you too: because:
• A human who can do only that will emaciate and starve himself, climb rocks, jump out pf perfectly good airplanes, and do all sort of crazy things looking for more, and:
• He will eventually kill himslef seeking it if he does find enlightenment, even if he is not conscious enough to know that this is why he feels lacking: you are not fulfilled.

A CALL TO ACTION:

Even in the worst of circumstances, there  is inspiration, and you have options.  Now watch this video for it all to come clearly together. A word to the wise, bring tissues:
